The National Theatre of the Deaf (NTD) is a touring theatre company of Deaf and hearing actors that performs in a beautiful and unique theatrical style that it created. That style, which has been referred to as “poetry for the eye and the ear”, links the visually expressive American Sign Language with the spoken word, allowing audiences to see and hear every word . Composed of 3 wings, NTD offers something for everyone. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2007, NTD is the oldest, continuously performing professional touring theatre company in the country. During its history, NTD has completed over 100 national tours and 31 international tours; given over 10,000 performances; appeared in all 50 states and on all 7 continents; and appeared in numerous television productions.
